Emily currently owns and occasionally breeds British Shorthair cats. Emily also owns a lovely, and very active, Bengal cat. Joey keeps us all on our toes, but is well worth all the effort as is such an affectionate boy! Emily is confident in basic cat care such as clipping nails, worming and administering medication.
Emily has lots of experience of dogs, and currently has a 1 year old German Shepherd called Beau. She grew up with Irish Setters and has had plenty of experience with a variety of breeds of dogs. Emily has taken over where her grandfather left off, as he always walked and boarded dogs. Emily is committed to providing the best care for the dogs she cares for, and always devises individual programmes to suit their needs. She is currently completing a course in dog-training with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour (ADTB). Following the completion of the course Emily will be a qualified instructor and will be able to add dog training to the services provided by Paws and Whiskers.
Emily has always loved horses and started riding at the age of four. She has owned ponies and later horses, including a New Forest pony Bramble and an ex-racehorse called Sugar who she spent a lot of time rehabilitating and reschooling. Her current horse Charlie is also a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse. Emily also has a loan horse, Lou-Lou who moved in with Charlie in November 2007!
